About Boston Indian Christian Friends

Welcome!
If you’re a student from India who has just arrived in the Greater Boston Area, we know what you may be feeling. The first few weeks can be exciting – a brand-new country, a new university, new friends. But after the honeymoon period, homesickness often sets in. Some students miss their families, others long for familiar food and community, and many find it hard to build deep friendships in a new culture.
That’s why the Boston Indian Christian Friends Fellowship exists. We are a Christ-centered, Holy Spirit-led, and Scripture-focused group of former graduate students who once walked the very same path you’re on now. Our heart is simple: to be a home away from home for Indian students in Boston.

Who Are We?

Starting as a small informal group two years ago, we now gather every month in homes for fellowship, prayer, and of course, authentic Indian food. Sometimes it’s a potluck, sometimes it’s hosted—but always a table where you are welcome and where you belong.

Our fellowship is made up of Indian Christian students from different states of India and from various church backgrounds. We are united in Christ, and we believe that true belonging is found when we remain in Him.

Why We Exist?

We understand that after the initial “honeymoon period,” many students face loneliness, homesickness, and challenges adjusting to life in a new country. Some miss family, some miss home-cooked food, and some find it difficult to build relationships in a new culture.

That’s why we are here—to walk alongside you, pray with you, and share life together. Whether it’s enjoying fellowship over a meal, exploring Boston, going whale watching, seeing the fall colors in New Hampshire, or traveling to places like Niagara Falls and the Statue of Liberty, we want you to feel supported and connected.

What We Do?

Monthly Fellowship Gatherings: Once a month, we meet at someone’s home to share Indian food, pray, and encourage one another. Sometimes we host potlucks so everyone can bring a little taste of home.

Community Support: Whether it’s help finding a place to live, easing into campus life, or just needing a listening ear, we are here for you.

Practical Guidance: From resume training to on-campus job tips, connections, and mentorship, we want to help you succeed.

Fun & Exploration: Along with meals and conversations, we regularly play cricket together and enjoy outings like whale watching, Niagara Falls, Statue of Liberty trips, and hikes to see New Hampshire’s fall colors. These moments help us laugh, bond, and build lasting friendships. not just food but we also also make sure We don’t miss out on cricket.

Our Heart

We come from different states in India and worship in different churches, but what unites us is Christ. We do not seek to be known publicly, but to glorify Jesus in everything we do.

Our fellowship motto is from John 15:7–8:

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
